There are many ways to play ArmA, but that doesn't mean all the communities are equal or that they're what the devs have had in mind. Time and time again they released patches that actually took away from the game and created more issues just to add a couple of weapons, clothes and villages. Heres player a player counter Most games have less and less players over time, however with this you can clearly see where patches and updates have either worked or made the game worse, I stopped playing in March last year, the frame rate was abysmal, yes I could launch the game and not blue screen but when you have 10fps and you get 140 in Battlefield for example its clearly the game that's the issue. Heres a thread from around the time it was announced its basically a year late, it went from 1 or 2 months late to being a whole year, I was off by a few months. Heres an article from when it was announced " the new renderer and Enfusion Engine, which will hopefully be in the game by the end of March."
When running around in big towns where the majority of people are getting incredibly low fps on a good machine, some people might not go to the big cities so it's not a problem as much for others who spend 90% of their time there. The game is incredibly playable, how could you say it isnt? Does it crash constantly for you? When you start it up do you blue screen? No, you can run around and survive no problem, seems pretty playable to me. The game was sold to the public, yea, and from the get go it had lots of big text that was hard to ignore that said, "THIS WILL BE BUGGY." There's lots of complaining to do, but the game is far from flat out dogshit, it still has thousands of players, and its made tons and tons of progress in the past 2 years.
The game has issues, and trust me, the devs are well aware of said issues.
